New Hampshire’s Now Accepts Dash Payments

AutoFair, a New Hampshire’s auto dealership, has announced that it will accept payments in dash, also launching a promotional discount for people looking to buy the next several cars using the digital currency.

First Car Sold in Dash

AutoFair says that it has already sold the first car using Dash as the campaign kicks off. The car, a 2012 Ford Fusion in sterling grey, was sold at an estimated value of $7,560, which at that time was 36.9855 Dash. Anypay, a crypto point-of-sale app, processed the transaction, which was simple and streamlined.

Speaking about the sale, Anypay’s Derrick J. Freeman said that:

“The paying part was delightful…..It was super easy. It was pretty amazing actually. Had I walked into the dealership with a stack of twenties, it would have been way more difficult. It just seemed right. Modern, efficient. It was also playful and fun whereas paper cash is way less fun. Tedious.”

Promotion to Sell Additional Vehicles

AutoFair has more than 300 cars for sale using Dash, and is currently running a promotion in collaboration with Anypay in order to attract customers to buy more of their vehicles with the digital currency. According to the auto dealership, the next four cars to be purchased using Dash will see the customer get a cool 10% ‘Dash-back’, which will be divided equally among the customer and the dealership. This amount is however capped at a $1,000 total for every purchase.

Freeman said that:

“Most businesses that started accepting cryptocurrency were smaller, more marginal businesses, and we see that larger and larger businesses are accepting crypto…..What normally happens is a business will accept digital cash often knowing that they can convert it to bank money. Yet almost always they learn about the benefits and decide to keep the digital cash themselves.”

Dash Popularity Among Merchants

Dash is one of the most popular digital currencies in New Hampshire, with almost 80 listed merchants accepting it. This has perhaps been promoted by the state’s last year’s bill, which explicitly exempted cryptocurrencies from some financial regulations.
